Some encouraging news. Following the Government publishing the new Corona Virus rules plus confirmation from Bowls England, we can now re-open the green for limited play while still following the social distancing rules.

As gatherings of more than two people are not permitted we can only use one rink and only two people can play at a time. However at least those playing members that want to can play bowls. I appreciate some members may still need to self isolate. We hope you can play before too long.

The simplest system seems to be to set up an on line booking system through the website. There is now a 'Bookings' section with a booking form and a booking chart. The form enables you to pick the day & time you want to play and the chart shows the bookings that have been made and which slots are free.

If you are flexible about your timing you may want to select several times in case another booking beats you to it. You will see on the website there are 4 sessions of 90 minutes each day from midday. This allows the mornings to be free for green, garden and clubhouse maintenance.

Bookings can be made straight away and play resumes next Monday18th May. Please always book at least 24 hours ahead of your preferred playing time (longer if possible) to allow time for the booking chart to be updated.

I do hope you will be as pleased as I am that we are able to resume playing bowls, albeit with a number of restrictions. Let's hope more sociable bowls will be possible before too long.
